Optical fiber fusion and Fluke Test

Optical fiber fusion and Fluke Test

Optical fiber cables will connected to their patch panels with device called Fusion. In fact, fusion is a type of optical fiber cores welding. To connect optical fiber cores to patch panel, first a Pigtail with (LC, SC, etc) connector will be fused with the Core. Then this Pigtail attaches to the optical fiber adapter in patch panel. Fusion is also used to re-establishing disconnected optical fiber cables.

Fluke Test

In addition to equipment and connections site survey, the required standards are also evaluated and eventually an accurate report will be provided by the device.

The list of the information that these type of testers provide:
  • The exact and complete test for physical layers of the network includes cable, keystone socket, patch panel, cable patch
  • Original passive networking equipment confirmation (cable, keystone, patch panel, cable patch)
  • The exact measurement for cabling, report of patch panel and keystone connections problems
  • Report about the connection between cable strings and keystone (weak or disconnected)
  • Report about noises and their exact location in the cabling path
  • Report about excessive stretching or bending and their exact location in the cabling path
  • Report about the purity of the copper used in network cables, resistance test and cables conductivity
  • Propagation Delay
  • Length
  • Wire Map
  • Dc loop Resistance
  • Delay Skew
  • EXT
  • Eturn Loss-RL
  • Insertion Loos

OTDR test

Same as Fluke test and only for optical fiber links.
